Stephen Sheridan

PhD Student, Technological University Dublin

Project Title: Swarm Electrification for Developing Countries

Biography: I graduated from TU Dublin with an honours degree in electrical engineering, specialising in power and control systems. Subsequently I worked for a consultancy advising large pharma and data centre clients on how to optimise their electrical networks.

My PhD is researching ways to optimise swarm grids (ad-hoc micro grids built from the bottom up) for productive energy use to help lift people from energy poverty to energy equality.

Research Interests: Power systems, renewable energy, storage systems, grid optimisation, nano / pico / mesh / swarm grids.

Supervisors: Dr. Jane Courtney (TU Dublin) and Dr. Malabika Basu (TU Dublin)
