Ashley Sheil

I arrived at my position in ADVANCE via the scenic route. I went to college as a mature student to study physics and mathematics in Maynooth, followed by a master’s in mathematics in NUI Galway. Before that I had many different jobs some good, a-lot bad! I used to write music and play in a band. I am passionate about a-lot of different things from animals, music to pretty much all areas in science, at the end of the day I love to learn, which is why taking up a PhD was the natural next step.

Working thesis title/ research area:“Authentication, People and Useable Security”. Cryptography.
