Deniz Mevlevioglu

PhD Student, University College Cork

Biography: I have completed my BA in Psychology at Bahcesehir University in Turkey and my MSc in Interactive Media at University College Cork. Incorporating both of my degrees, my PhD research is about real-time anxiety detection in Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy. It focuses on using machine learning algorithms to predict anxiety in the Virtual Reality Environment by using physiological and behavioural information from the user. This prediction will be useful in therapy to make informed and personalised decisions that lead to meaningful contextual changes within the environment. I am also experienced in demonstrating for or delivering tutorials in various computer science topics such as Web Development, Object Oriented Programming and Virtual Reality.
