Dr. Catherine Hurley

Biography: Catherine Hurley is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Maynooth University where she is also affiliated with the Hamilton Institute. She received her PhD in Statistics from the University of Washington, U.S.A.

She is currently President of the Irish Statistical Association and Executive Editor of the R Journal.

Her research concerns data visualisation for high-dimensional data and machine learning. She develops new, often interactive data visualisation methods, resulting in R packages and publications in top international journals.
