Dr. Rudi Villing

Biography: Rudi Villing is a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Electronic Engineering at Maynooth University. He previously worked as a product architect in the telecommunications industry, designing software systems for network management. He is a member of the Hamilton Institute and associate director of the Assisting Living and Learning (ALL) Institute at Maynooth University. His current research interests are primarily in the area of deep learning and autonomous robotics for independent living and he has worked on applications of sensing, actuation, and communications for health and wellbeing. In general, he is interested in using technology to improve health and wellbeing both on the scale of individuals and of society in general.
