Dr. Seán McSweeney

Biography: Dr. Seán McSweeney is the Head of Department in Computer Science at Cork Institute of Technology. Seán previously lectured in CyberSecurity and Internet of Things (IoT) and was part of the course boards who developed the postgraduate programmes MSc in Cybersecurity, MSc in AI and MSc in Cloud and the undergraduate programme BSc in Computer Systems as well as previously acting as the department undergraduate projects coordinator. Seán is currently involved in both national and international research projects. Seán is a co-applicant and team member of CYBER-SKILLS, an €8.2M HCI Pillar 3 project and BODAH a €1.57M Interreg project. Seán is a founding member and Principle Investigator of the Ríomh research group at CIT and was part of the CIT team supporting the establishment of CyberIreland.

Research Interests: Seáns research interests include the application of offensive techniques to critical infrastructure and enterprise systems, digital forensics for enterprise systems, acoustic sensing and autonomous systems localisation and navigation.
