Project Title: ‘EMPOWER @ CIT’ (Encouraging the Monitoring of Personal Online Wellness metrics and Enabling timely access to Resources at Cork Institute of Technology)

Biography: The current research project aims to design and develop a technological platform to monitor and maximise the well-being of the campus population (both students and staff) at Cork Institute of Technology/ Munster Technological University. After extensive background research, it is clear to see there is little to no previous research in Ireland similar to that proposed in this research project. The research team on this project will develop a technological platform or device, for students and staff to interact with. The user of this technology will be asked a number of questions and using the answers provided, the technology will generate a personal wellness score for each individual user. Based on the results generated, the technology can then offer tips and suggestions to the user on how to improve their overall wellbeing. This may include targeting and improving one area or making small changes to many areas of the user’s life.
