Vlad Ionescu

PhD Student, University College Cork (UCC)

Greetings! I’m Vlad Ionescu, a dedicated researcher and PhD student at University College Cork. Born and educated in Brasov, Romania, I completed my undergraduate and master’s degrees in computer science, specialising in “Mobile Application and E-Business Technologies,” at Transilvania University. A scholarship opportunity further enriched my academic journey, allowing me to spend a year at Hochschule Heilbronn, Germany.

My professional path led me to a three-year tenure as an iOS developer part of IBM, where I honed my technical skills. However, my passion for research and the intricacies of computer science drew me back to academia. Currently, my research at University College Cork focuses on potential vulnerabilities and threats of LPWAN Deployments, a topic of significant relevance in the era of IoT deployments.

In addition to my research, I am committed to contributing to the broader academic community and fostering collaborations. I am always ready to engage in professional discourse and collaborative opportunities. My goal is to contribute to the advancement of technology and its safe and efficient integration into our daily lives.
